  • Your early experiences using Twitter (X) or Instagram for your Personal Learning Networks. With whom have you been interacting and how have you found it beneficial? How might Twitter be helpful in your future career?
I was first exposed to Twitter in Highschool. The app was actually a tool my AP Art History teacher made us utilize for our assignments. While it was a creative way to do my assignments, I don't think I will be useful in my future since quite frankly I don't enjoy the platform and did not see it being of much benefit to me. That being said, I perhaps need to give it some more time to warm up on me since I only utilized it for homework purposes.

  • The digital divide. How does the digital divide affect student success in schools? What are some causes of the digital divide? Reflect on what you may experience as a classroom teacher and how this will affect your teaching strategies.
I think the digital divid impacts many students in more impoverished communities. The most clear cause of the divide is poverty, which limits a students accessibility to technology. I don't believe that this will affect my teaching strategies since majority of schooling districts are providing students with technology. I also will not be overly dependent on technology in the classroom. Pen and paper still have value to me!

  • Academic software for students. Identify two software tools you would like to implement in your future classroom. Describe the software tools and why you would like to use them with your future students.

We briefly discussed it in last weeks post, but I would like to use technology such as Chat GPT. I believe that society is transitioning to AI so it students should be taught to navigate with and around it from an early age. I also would like to implement Class Dojo. Class dojo was used in the classes I attended growing up. It only added to my learning experience in a positive way, which I hope is what happens with my students.
